13 Reasons Why
When 13 Reasons Why was first released on Netflix, it was the most talked-about show at that time. The main character is Clay Jensen. Jensen is played perfectly by Dylan Christopher Minnette, who became a sensation after his performance. It follows him and the aftermath of the suicide of one of his school mates Hannah Baker, who left behind a box of tapes that details why she chose to end her life. This is a great Teen Drama show, as it uses its various storylines to explore and depict the wide range of issues that are affecting the modern youth such as sexual assault, suicide, racism, bullying, jock culture, drug addiction, mental health, homophobia, domestic violence, police brutality, homelessness, steroid use, HIV, deportation, and school shootings. When the show premiered, it almost developed a cult following who demanded for a second season. With Selena Gomez serving as an Executive Producer, this was a surprise hit that just kept coming.
