This is a comedy series about life in a female prison. The show follows Piper Chapman, who was convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting drug money for her ex-girlfriend. She is sentenced to a year and a half in prison and gets to experience how life-changing prisons really are. Other than that, there is a whole array of characters on the show that makes it come alive. The show premiered on Netflix in 2013 and had its seventh and final season in 2019. There are more than 90 episodes for you to binge-watch. This was Netflix’s most-watched series and was widely acclaimed throughout its run. It garnered 12 Emmy Award nominations, which included the most outstanding comedy series. It, however, changed its category from comedy to drama due to new rules in 2015, but it became the only series in history to receive nominations in both comedy and drama.
