Stranger Things
When Stranger Things first premiered, it attracted record viewership on Netflix with an international fan base. It was the most talked-about show on TV, and quickly changed the lives of the cast on the show. This show is about a young boy who disappears and his mother together with a police chief and the boy's friends must confront terrifying supernatural forces in order to try and get him back. It is a sci-fi horror show that is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. The first season focuses on the investigation into the boy’s disappearance and the supernatural events that occur in the town. But perhaps the most interesting part about this series is that it is set in the 80s. So, it combines period times with supernatural investigations. Everything about this show – the atmosphere, directing, soundtrack, acting, and writing pays homage to the 80s films. It has so far received 39 Prime Time Emmy nominations, 4 golden globe awards, and many other award nominations.
