D'Angelo Danté Russell is an American NBA professional basketball player who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was originally selected for the McDonald’s All-American team in 2014 and played for the Ohio State Buckeyes in college. Russel was the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft for the Los Angeles Lakers. He played point guard and was chosen for the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2015. Later on, he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2017 and later joined the Timberwolves in 2020.
